Shops and stores
The prices in the shops are very reasonable and unlike turkey or Egypt the prices are clearly labelled, there is is no need to barter for your items although you may wish to seek a discount when buying numerous items. There is also suprisingly, given the temporary nature of the shops and low prices, no pressure to make a purchase and you are unlikely to be pushed into going into a shop. This makes your shopping experience pleasurable and is common throughout Bulgaria, it reflects the relaxed, no rush attitudes of the people.
Some of the shops sell traditional locally sourced items including the Thracian ceramic pottery which is very well made and beautifully painted, they might also sell traditional table clothes, which you will see in most restaurants, lavender and rose oil products, major Bulgarian exports are also readily available and relatively cheap.
There are a number of supermarkets in the village selling groceries although the low cost of eating out in the many restaurants means you wont need to buy all your food from here. At the time of writing it is possible to get a bottle of wine from the supermarket for around 1 euro upwards, tobacco is also relatively very cheap
The shops offer a range of products including:-,
Rose Market’s – selling cosmetics and beauty products
Hardware stores – selling all your DIY products
